Default Call of Duty Moder Warfare 2 Review [PC]

A direct sequel to the best shooter game of 2007, a direct sequel to the most selling game of 2007, a direct sequel to the legendary game Call of Duty Modern Warfare are three reasons to make Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 the most anticipated game of 2009 !!
It is finally November and the game hit stores, did it fulfill all our high exceptions ? Was it a disappointment ?

The story in Call of Duty Modern Warfare (COD4) was somehow special, it was fiction but real at the same time, describing how could a next or actual war begin. In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (COD6) things are not different. Its plot begins five years after the conclusion of COD4: Despite the efforts of the Marines and the SAS, the Ultranationalists seize control of Russia and declare Zakhaev a hero and martyr. Meanwhile, Vladimir Makarov, one of Zakhaev's former lieutenants, begins a campaign against Europe by committing numerous acts of terrorism. I am not gonna spoil it for you because the story is very interesting; there are lots of twists, heroism, betrayal, ... . Also to understand and get more involved in the story of the game, you have to play a mission called "The Russian" that you can choose not play due to its brutality and savageness (if you have the Russian version you won't play it).
The story has a lot of epic moments and the DEV team made sure to let you live these moments by making them playable. Their gameplay is somehow scripted but i was cool. For example in Brazil you have to run through the roof and catch the helicopter, you will think that it is hard and you have no where to go but the animation let you find the way and creates this feeling that you are in a open world environment and that you are finding the way.
The interesting story that COD6 have needs some good music and who is better that "the Hans Zimmer" for that ? You will find yourself playing with his music in the background while the bullet sound gets lower creating an amazing epic feeling of heroism and patriotism (White House mission)
This is one of the soundtracks you'll be hearing through the game, try to imagine how it will feel:

Call of Duty is known for its intense gameplay, for sure it was not different in COD6; there where some very intense battles (Brazil, White House, Afghanistan) but i did notice a big change is the core of COD general gameplay: first the enemies has better AI (still not that good) and second the unlimited infinite enemy spawns are gone. I am sure that while playing on lower difficulties you won't notice that but go up on hardened and veteran play it a bit, than go back and play CO4 on the same difficulty setting . I am sure that you will notice a big different; COD6 will look much easier cause you can just cover and shoot them all not worrying about the unlimited spawns and kill the enemy with the RPG or with the grenades first and play the battle without having grenade/RPG rain all over your head. What is different this time also is the missions type or style. You won't be attacking with a large number of allies; battles aren't anymore army vs army, you are now part of a special squad that attacks in low numbers and you will find yourself playing some solo moments witch was impossible in previous titles of the game. This new system allowed to DEV team to create lots of mission and gameplay variety: escaping on a snow mobile, infiltration, stealth, .... .
To bad the campaign is too short and the slightly easier gameplay makes it even shorter; it took me about 5 hours to beat the game on hardened difficulty.
In a final word about the campaign mode it was literally an "action movie" converted into a game.

But if you think that the campaign is what COD6 is all about you are definitely wrong !! There are two other modes available for you : Spec Ops and Multilplayer. Unfortunately I was unable to experience the Multilplayer mode (It is a dream for me) so I won't talk about it in this review.
Spec Ops was for me what made COD6 an awesome game. In a short descriptive sentence it is the "ACRADE COD6" . You have 23 mission to beat that I found harder and much more intense and fun that the campaign mode. The missions are playable in solo mode but for real COD experience play this mode in Co-op; after all Infinity Ward did mention that these missions are designed for Co-op play.

In addition to all that, you have a huge weapon catalog and a lot of accessories for them. I wished we had the ability to customize them but we cannot. The good part is that every weapon will feel different while playing so you will favorite some weapons to other depending your style. Graphics also is amazing and because of the so many locations of the game, there is a big scenery variety keeping you from getting bored of seeing the exact same thing.

    Verdict
The game was so much fun, campaign mode a bit short but you will live the moment and enjoy it. Thanks to the Spec OP mode you will be spending more time playing the game and even replay some of its missions. It was sure worth the waiting for.

    Scores
    Graphics : 9/10
    Sound : 10/10
    Gameplay : 8.5/10
    Fun Factor : 10/10
Overall (not an average) : 9.5/10
